3 Trends I'm Falling For This Season

Hallelujah! The smell of pumpkin spice and the feel of refreshingly crisp fall air has finally begun! There’s so much to look forward to in the next coming months, one of my favorites being the newest trends for the season! Now don’t get me wrong I still get excited for summer trends, but there’s just something about fall and winter that makes me feel like a kid in a candy store. Warm rustic colors, soft and cozy materials, and all new boots and booties are just a few reasons fall is hands down the best season.

I’ll start with my top fall trend to be on the look out for: off the shoulder tops. So I know it sounds like a summer staple and it definitely made its premier this season, but they are also the perfect transitional piece! As we enter the next few months where it’s not quite hot but not quite cold, off the shoulder tops are functional and super chic! I love that the trend has transitioned into long-sleeve cuts in beautiful fall hues. While we wait for the winter chill, these tops are styled best with distressed skinny jeans and pumps or booties, depending on the occasion.

Secondly, we can’t go without mentioning colors to be on the look out for! This season it’s all about warm tones. I’m obsessing over the burnt oranges, marigold, camel, and brick reds I’ve been seeing. As well, deeper tones of rose and soft pinks will add a delicate feel to your fall wardrobe. If you like things more on the dark side: charcoal, navy, taupe, and army green will be your go-to.

Finally, fall just wouldn’t be fall without layering. Mixing prints with basics, print on print, adding delicate bralettes to peak through sweaters, the list of possibilities goes on and on. Cardigans are a staple in the fall too, so be sure to stock up on neutrals! The main rules for layering are:

  • Start out thin: Put your thinnest layer on first and build up from there!

  • Add some variety: Keep things interesting! Pops of colors, long beaded necklaces, or a bralette peaking through add stunning details to any outfit.

  • Don’t forget about accent pieces: Throwing on a blanket scarf or a chic hat adds a strong element of personality and style to any outfit.

Keeping these top three trends in mind, be on the lookout for what A Cut Above has coming in the next few weeks. We promise you don’t want to miss out on our fall collection! For your first look at our new arrivals be sure to follow us on social media – Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook!
